What does the PTA do?

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year.  The Ida Elementary PTA is excited to bring fun events and fundraising opportunities to help raise money for the school.  We are available for questions regarding fundraising and volunteering for PTA functions on our Facebook Page ‘Ida PTA’ and via email at [email protected] .  Forms for upcoming events, spirit wear, PTA membership are available on the bulletin board by the office and will be coming soon to this website.  Upcoming events will also be highlighted on the bulletin boards outside the K-2 bathrooms and here in the calendar.

We have an amazing community of people who truly love to help our kids as well as the staff.  Our major fundraisers this year will be the read-a-thon, book fairs, bingo night, spirit wear and dress up days.  Other activities include family movie night, family fun night, skating parties, daddy daughter dance and mother son bowling.    If you are ever in the school on Fridays you will smell delicious popcorn being prepared by parent volunteers that can be purchased for $.50 per bag and will be delivered each Friday to your child for his/her snack.  All proceeds from popcorn Friday’s also benefit the PTA.  And for those of you who would rather make one flat donation, we will be sending home a donation form that you can fill out and make one donation to the PTA for the year. (Now keep in mind you will still be seeing information on other fundraisers coming home with your child.  Feel free to recycle those with the satisfaction of knowing you have made your donation!)

Here are of some of the wonderful items purchased from your generous donations:  refillable water bottle stations, classroom learning aids for all grade levels, transportation for all grade – level field trips including 4th grade camp field trip, authors for writing/reading month assemblies, and playground toys.  We also treat our teachers and staff to Christmas  and Teacher Appreciation Week gifts (we love to spoil our hard working and amazing teachers and staff) to show them how much we value them and the work they do for our children.

We hope you will attend the meetings that are held the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Elementary All-Purpose room at 7pm.  Our first meeting will be September 18th.  We are always looking for volunteers to help at events as much or as little as you like.  If there is an area you are interested in helping at please contact one of the board members or fill out the volunteer form here on the website.
